Committees

We participate in various social, philanthropic, athletic, fundraising, academic, and professional events both on and off campus. Alpha Omega Epsilon provides sisters with various networking opportunities through alumnae, events, and conventions. With this enabling us, we aim to strengthen our bond of sisterhood and form connections that will last beyond the boundaries of Clemson.

If you want to learn more about the specific events we hold each semester, please check out our newsletters on the History page!

For more information regarding the specific sisters currently in charge of each committee, visit our Sisters page in the About section!

Academic

Academic

As an engineering and technical sciences sorority,

we prioritize our academics above all else. We all understand the strain of having an intense class schedule, and we continually motivate each other to do the best we can!

One of the goals of Alpha Omega Epsilon is to motivate our sisters to higher standards of scholarly achievement. We do this by hosting study halls throughout the year, by having sisters present their research experience to encourage others to get involved, and by maintaining our own test bank and textbook library.

Our chapter of AΩE has been recognized as having the highest GPA internationally several times, and we continue to strive to achieve this every year.

Alumnae

Alumnae

One of the best parts about being in a sorority is the connections you make. To encourage networking and sisterhood bonding, we host at least one alumnae event every semester for any alumnae in the area. We love getting to hear from them and seeing where they are today. We also stay in contact with our Alumnae Chapter here at Clemson University. Click below to see our Alumnae Chapter's website!

Apparel

Another awesome part about being in a sorority is the merchandise! We love wearing our letters around campus! We've been fortunate enough to have awesome Apparel Chairs in the past who have given us buttons, sweatshirts, shirts, and more at reasonable prices. As we continue to grow, so do our ideas of how we can spread the word about how awesome our sorority and the ladies in it are.

Day Away

For our chapter, we have a recruitment semester in the fall and a sisterhood semester in the spring. Because of this, we have a one-day Day Away in the fall so that the candidates just get a taste of Day Away and an awesome chance to get to know more sisters. Then in the spring, we have an overnight Day Away to encourage sisterhood bonding. We've gone on trips to Denver Downs, Helen Georgia, MAD World, and to Spare Time in recent semesters.

Health and Wellness

As college students, we all know it's important to stay healthy so that we can continue to do our best! This committee encourages sisters to stay healthy and well by hosting events with guest speakers to give us advice on how we eat, how much we sleep, or how to handle the stress of being a college student. Sisters are also known to do group workouts together at Fike, our campus gym. We also will attend sporting events together to support our Tigers and other sisters!

Go Tigers!

Philanthropic

Our sorority strives to reach out to the community and to better ourselves as individuals. We do this through various philanthropic events that work with groups such as Helping Hands, the Homeless Period Project, Habitat for Humanity, Harvest Hope, the Ronald McDonald House, and MUSC's Aluminum Cans for Burned Children.

Sustainability

Sustainability is a new committee within our chapter that encourages sisters to make smart environmental choices and become more aware of their impact on the earth. Some events that our Sustainability Committee has encouraged are Meatless Mondays, Trash Jar Competitions, and creating reusable grocery bags.

Professional

A.O.E.'s professional committee focuses on furthering the professional development of the sisters, preparing for opportunities such as internships and co-ops, as well as graduate school and employment in industry. The committee does this by organizing events such as resume and interview workshops. The committee also reaches out to industry professionals, especially the chapter's alumnae, in the fields of engineering and science, in an effort to expand professional connections and opportunities for the sisters.

Risk Management

We like to make sure that we have fun AND safe events throughout the semester. Risk Management is based on our bylaws and the national board. By following these rules, we create a safe environment for all of our sisters!

Ritual

Every semester, we take a week to focus on our sorority. We call it Ritual Week. It's a fun week of sisterhood bonding and awesome events! This could include trivia night, craft night, game night, and more. At the end of the week, we look back on Alpha Omega Epsilon's symbols and history and appreciate the amazing sorority we get to be a part of!

Sisterhood

We also like to focus on the bonds of sisterhood that make us a sorority. We plan events just to hang out with our sisters, have fun, and get to know one another better. Some events we’ve had in the past include spa nights to get ready for formal, bowling nights, movie nights, potluck style breakfast, and more!

Social

Even though Alpha Omega Epsilon puts an emphasis on academics, we have plenty of social events to choose from as well.  While formals are our most popular events, we also plan themed mixers with other Greek organizations on campus. It's a great way to get our name out on campus as well as make new friends!
